Food For Thought
Tea, bacon rolls, gorgeous, luscious bacon rolls. You cannae whack it in the morning nor the £4.95 businessman’s lunch at the Chinese across the road – BBQ ribs and chicken breast curry with fried rice, not to mention whichever delights are served up at home to be washed down with beer, wine or both. But not today.
Day One in the Big Blubber House….
7.15am: Actimel followed by two slices wholemeal toast, lite spread and banana; 12.20pm: two wholemeal pitta bread pouches with green salad and four falafel balls followed by an apple and an orange; 4.15pm getting a bit hungry now so a Pineapple Muller Light and a fruit salad; 7pm rib-eye steak and BBQ Super Noodles; a few cups of tea and bottled water throughout. Oh yes, I do feel righteous. And a little peckish for that matter…
Day Two
7am: Banana on two slices brown seeded toast; 11am: two Chai tea lattes, blueberry muffin; 1pm: pint heavy, 2pm-3pm: two pints heavy, bottle of lager; 3pm – 7pm: five bottles lager; 7.30pm – 9.30pmish: five glasses red wine; 11pm: er, an apple. Oh God, the room’s spinning.
Day Three
6.30am: Fruit salad; 10am: Oat clustered cereal and skimmed milk; 12.05pm: Wholemeal wrap with steak, onion and red pepper, Muller Light yoghurt, apple; 7.30pm: Lemon sole and oven chips, two bits of wholemeal bread; Daytime survival through four cups coffee, three tea, one water. I really should know much better at this age.
